The 6dof motion platform of the double-layer 6dof stable  platform of the lower platform simulates the wave data of the ship, and the upper platform is leveled in real time through the inertial guidance system to ensure that the upper platform surface always remains horizontal.

The 6dof stable  platform realizes the stabilization of the motion carrier equipment to ensure the accurate tracking of the target, which is widely used in the military fields such as machinery, shipboard, vehicle-mounted weapons, etc. and in the fields of space remote sensing and detection, public security and fire prevention, and environmental monitoring. Such as in ships, warships on the radar antenna, stabilization platform to maintain inertia level to ensure that the radar to find the detection object.

When the lower platform of TecPlat simulates the movement of objects such as ships or vehicles, the upper plane of the upper platform is required to be kept horizontal. Since the upper and lower platforms are rigidly connected, the attitude gyroscope can be installed in the upper plane (A plane) or lower plane (B/C plane) of the upper platform (or both, if required by some algorithms).

The large angle tilt is a superposition of the same attitudes of the two platforms (the opposite of self-balancing, where the attitudes of the upper and lower platforms cancel each other out) to achieve a larger angle or displacement.

As the core components of the motion platform, with its excellent performance in accuracy, response speed, smooth dynamic motion capability, load capacity, total cost of ownership, high integration and system compatibility, the servo electric cylinder supports a variety of bus control methods, such as CANopen, RS485, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and can achieve precise servo control at any position within the travel range.

Its micron-level precision positioning and low latency characteristics ensure the ultimate realism of motion simulation, which has far-reaching significance for professional training and entertainment experience. At the same time, the servo electric cylinder’s stable and dynamic movement capabilities, combined with the intelligent buffering function, not only improve the realism of the simulation, but also extend the life of the equipment and ensure safe operation. The strong load capacity ensures that the motion platform can still achieve complex and highly dynamic movements while carrying heavy objects, meeting diverse application needs.

Independently developed control unit

The control unit of the Stable  Platform is all independently developed by Allcontroller, using the STM32H745 solution, Dual 32-bit Arm cortex-M7 up to 480MHz and -M4 MCUS. It is the highest configuration in the ST NUCLE0 series, with two processor units, Cortex-M7 and Cortex-M4, and provides 32 hardware semaphores (HSEM for short) to control the synchronization between dual cores or different processes. The main frequency can reach 480MHz, including 3 configurable resolution ADCs, supporting up to 16-bit resolution, the sampling rate can reach 6MSPS in 8-bit mode, supporting Ethernet communication, and the SPI rate can reach an amazing 150MHz. It uses ST’s latest 40m process, which is the basis for H7 to adopt a higher performance architecture. Compared with its own F7 series, H7’s performance is doubled and dynamic power consumption is reduced by half!

Motion platform Control Cabinet

As an important component of the Stable  Platform, the control cabinet houses the servo driver and motion control computer of the 6DOF Stable  Platform drive system, provides normal power and emergency power for the internal equipment of the control cabinet, and ensures the normal operation of the system; at the same time, it provides the system with a control panel including an emergency stop button (E-Stop), a start button, a stop button, a fault indicator light, etc.; provides a communication interface and a logic interface for the motion platform system; has an independent lighting system inside for easy maintenance; and has a reliable circulation cooling system.

The electric control cabinet (box) is a control cabinet (box) that assembles switchgear, measuring instruments, protective electrical appliances and auxiliary equipment in a closed or semi-closed metal cabinet or on a screen according to electrical wiring requirements. 6DOF motion simulator is a mechanical device that provides movement across one or more of the six degrees of freedom (DoF), which are individually defined as X, Y, Z, θ-X, θ-Y, θ-Z, and often referred to as surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch, and yaw.

It was initially used for flight simulation training, but has now gradually developed into a driving simulator, flight simulator, truck simulator and even real car simulator for various driving simulation training and research.

Simulator motion platforms today use 6 jacks (“Hexapods”) giving all six degrees-of-freedom, the three rotations pitch, roll and yaw, plus the three translational movements heave (up and down), sway (sideways) and surge (longitudinal). 6 Dof motions are powerful cues when combined with outside-world (OTW) imagery.
